Fall Dance 
Registration

Just Dance is currently accepting registration for the upcoming 2023 - 2024 season.  We are extremely excited to get back into the studio celebrating our 20th dance season.  CLASSES BEGIN SEPTEMBER 10TH.

 

Jazz (ages 7 and up) classes explore traditional, Broadway and contemporary styles in a fun, energetic atmosphere. Classes begin with a warm-up with stresses technique, flexibility, coordination and strength, followed by progressions across the floor, center work and combinations.  Beginner students learn fundamental jazz steps and basic vocabulary through across the floor exercises and simple combinations.  Intermediate classes focus on body placement and proper technique, stretching and development of skills. Advanced classes emphasize quality of movement in addition to perfecting technique, performance skills and varied styles. 

Tap (ages 7 and up) dance enables a dancer to create a percussive sound with their feet.Tap classes are offered to students ages 5 and up and focus on rhythm, musicality and timing. All classes begin with an energetic warm-up, across the floor exercises and combinations. Our beginner students explore the fundamental steps of tap dance, learn tap terminology and defelop the ability to maintain correct body placement.  Intermediate classes further develop skills, focusing on clarity of sounds and increasing speed as well as dynamics and musicality. Our advanced tap dancers are challenged through improvisational exercises, intricate rhythms and footwork.  

Lyrical (ages 10 and up)classes integrate various traditional disciplines of lyrical dance foundations with current contemporary styles. These classes are for dancers who like physical complicated floor work, patterns of movement and self-expression. Elements of improvisation are also introduced.

Hip Hop (ages 7 and up) 

This class will introduce young students’ to the basic vocabulary and style of hip hop movement. Hip Hop is about personal style and expression. This high energy class can be taught to anyone with a passion to move, so no dance experience is required.

 

Mommy and Me (ages 18 to 36 months) Foster a love of movement in your child with this fun and energetic class. Lessons consider students’ attention spans and keeps them happily engaged while learning to translate music to movement. Interaction is consistent and incorporates a high level of praise to promote a strong sense of accomplishment.

Tiny Toes  (ages 3 and 4) classes introduce a structured environment while allowing children to recognize their own individuality and body mobility. Focus is on coordination and rhythm introduced in creative and imaginative ways. Keeping students entertained while learning beginning dance skills will help them to acquire a lifelong love for dance.  THIS CLASS NOW CONSISTS OF TAP AND BALLET TECHNIQUES.

Ballet (ages 7 and up)is the foundation of all dance styles. When beginning a ballet program more advanced stretching and strengthening exercises are given, barre work is introduced with a greater emphasis on vocabulary and French terminology. Musicality continues to be emphasized along with balance and coordination through the strengthening of the body core. Center floor work is introduced with continued focus on the positions of the arms, legs and feet using classical ballet vocabulary.  As the dancer progresses more advanced stretching and strengthening exercises are given, barre work is continued with a greater emphasis on vocabulary and French terminology. Musicality continues to be emphasized along with balance and coordination through the strengthening of the body core. Center work is introduced with continued focus on the positions of the arms, legs and feet using classical ballet vocabulary.  The advanced level challenges the student with more complex combinations at the barre and in the center. The student will work on fluidity of movement, balance, and combinations.

Triple Threat

(ages 5 and 6) Combines tap and ballet and jazz genres of dance. This class will develop your child’s coordination as well as an understanding of dance concepts and terminology. Through this enjoyable educational experience, students will learn to use dance as a creative means of self-expression. Dance Fusion concentration is on vocabulary, alignment and proper execution of movement and memorization and independence through sequential tasking.
